10 Awesome and Fun Phone Apps for Busy Moms

Let’s face it, moms these days are BUSY! There is a lot on our plate each and every day. We all need a little escape from time to time. For me, I take a bit of “chill out” time while on the school pick up line or waiting for soccer practice to end. There’s not much productive work I can get done in that 10-20 minutes. So, what’s a busy mom to do? Check out some fun phone apps.

Whether your passing time in the school pickup line or looking for ways to keep organized. These phone apps are for you! #smartphone #iphone #apps

So, what’s a busy mom to do during these precious minutes? I say, enjoy some awesome phone apps! This is the one time in my day when I am an app addict. Here are the apps that are the top of my list. The first half are strictly for entertainment, the second half of the list helps me be a little productive with a few other tasks.

Panda Pop

On my list of fun phone apps, Panda Pop is currently my #1 addiction. An evil baboon has kidnapped & trapped precious panda pups in the jungle. Strategically burst matching bubbles to help beat him & return the cubs to their worried mother! I think there is something about saving baby pandas for their mother that really pulls at my heart strings. I never want to let her down. Should I be ashamed to admit that I’m on level 956?

Can You Escape

The purpose of this game is to break out of the rooms. Sounds easy, right? The first few rooms may be easy, but they get more challenging. There are other Can You Escape games in the franchise as well. Escape by finding all the hidden objects that you then use in the rooms in order to advance to the next floor. Challenge yourself in this free, fun, and addictive game.

Dots

I only recently found this fun phone app. It is so simple, yet so addicting. Dots is all about connecting. Connect same color dots in straight lines or make a square. No diagonals allowed. This game is deceptively simple, yet challenging. I think it’s has a fun and thoughtful game design as well. You can choose to play to beat your own best, beat the clock, play with friends, earn trophies and more. It’s super easy to play and a great mind sharpener for me.

100 Pics Quiz

This game has over 10,000 picture puzzles. Each picture is covered by 4 tiles. The quicker you can figure out the answer, the more coins you earn. The game is free, but you use your coins (or purchase coins) to unlock other puzzles. Free puzzles are offered once in a while too. I’ve had fun reliving my past with games like “Best of the 80’s” and “Games” and “Movie Posters.”

Stick Hero

Help this adorable little ninja looking character walk from platform to platform by stretching the stick. Watch out! If the stick is not long enough, your little fella will fall down! See how far you can go. It looks so simple, but can be truly frustrating when you fail at only 2-3 sticks. Yes, I’ve been there. How far can you go? My daughter has completed over 80 sticks. I bow down to her. LOL!

All Recipes Dinner Spinner

I sometimes pop into the grocery store right after school pickup so I might as well plan dinner while I’m waiting on the pick up line. The Allrecipes Dinner Spinner app gives you instant access to Allrecipes’ amazing collection of member-submitted recipes, with photos, ratings and reviews from a huge community of home cooks. There are more than a thousand mobile-friendly recipe videos with step-by-step cooking instructions. This makes meal planning fun and easy.

Pinterest

Pinterest is one of my favorite apps. I’ll use it to search for inspiration on what I might wear for date night or where to travel on summer vacation. You can find photo inspiration for practically anything. I recently used Pinterest to plan how I’ll finish my family room once we are done painting. See a photo you like on a website, save it to Pinterest for future use. Just be careful – you can get REALLY addicted to surfing Pinterest.

DIY Projects

Sitting in line on a rainy Friday, I often wonder what we’ll do for the weekend. DIY Projects is a great place to turn for inspiration. I can find projects for the kids to do or for the entire family. I’ll find fun ideas for gifts as well. It’s fun for the whole family. It can give me great playdate ideas for my daughter as well. Projects are outlined with the materials you’ll need with step-by-step photos

Inspirational Quotes & Sayings

Why not spend a little time perusing inspirational and motivational quotes? Always helps lift my day if it’s not going well. I’ll also have some handy in case one of my kids had a bad day. I love that you can save your favorites and they are all presented in a lovely graphical way.

Polyvore

Polyvore is a bit like Pinterest, but with a style and fashion focus. It’s a great place to find individual pieces to put together outfits or find outfits that others have created. You can then shop for items since Polyvore links to their original sites. I love putting together inspiration boards for different occasions.

So, there’s my list. What fun phone apps are you addicted to these days?
