10 Detox Water Recipes – Find One for YOU!

Drinking water is great to help flush the body of toxins, but adding a few ingredients can turn ordinary water into a detox water that can provide even more benefits. Besides, plain water can get boring, right?

What’s great about these recipes is that they can be done each day. I prefer this approach instead of a 3-5 day cleanse. I think your body needs food and nutrients daily and not just detox waters. Each recipe provides difference benefits so choose the one that is right for you.

10 Detox Water Recipes

Cucumber Lemon Mint Detox Water

Apparently this one is also known as Sassy Water. Cute, huh? Did you know that cucumbers are very hydrating? That’s one reason they are often in detox water recipes. Add some lemon for the added cleansing of citric acid, which helps with digestion. Adding mint provides a clean and crisp flavor that is a nice compliment to the lemon and cucumber.

Weight Loss Detox Water

This mix is great for weight loss. Grapefruit is one of the essential weight loss foods. It is also a great detoxing food. For me, it always seems to quench my hunger cravings as well. Adding tangerines provides more sweetness and the cucumbers provide added minerals. This one is really tasty.

Apple Cider Vinegar Detox Water

Apple cider vinegar is another staple of detox water recipes. The taste can be pretty strong so adding lemons, cucumber and mint makes it more pleasing to the palette. according to Web MD, apple cider vinegar helps regulate blood sugar levels and is helpful for those with diabetes.

Strawberry Detox Water

This is one of my favorites. The strawberries provide a nice fruity flavor that is not in many detox water recipes. Strawberries also provide added antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. This recipe also includes watermelons and rosemary. Yum! This one is great for summer. It’s so refreshing!

Jillian Michaels Detox Water

When you search for detox water recipes, you are likely to find the Jillian Michaels version. Her recipe uses cranberry juice, dandelion tea and lemon juice. This detox water is supposed to help with weight loss. I like the flavors too!

Apple Cinnamon Detox Water

This recipe has been featured on the Dr. Oz show. It is also referred to as the Zero Calorie detox water. There are a few calories from the apples, but close enough to zero to stick with this name. Cinnamon is said to stimulate your organs to cleanse themselves. Apples provide a good source of minerals and vitamins. It also helps regulate blood sugar and stop food cravings.

Fat Burning Detox Drink

This detox water also uses cinnamon, but includes other detox water staples like apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and a bit of stevia for sweetness. Lemon juice contains pectin, which is a soluble fiber that helps with weight loss. It also has a lot of vitamin C.

Aloe Water

Aloe can help with both digestion and circulation. It is also said to increase energy. What busy mom like me doesn’t need an energy boost? You can buy aloe water, but making it from scratch is cheaper and super easy. Besides, having an aloe plant can help soothe your skin too.

Lemon and Ginger Detox Water

Ginger is an excellent detox ingredient. It is famous for kick starting metabolism. The diuretic effect of the lemons helps shed unwanted toxins as well. Ginger also has pain relieving properties so it’s great if you have post workout muscle soreness.

 Raspberry Grapefruit Detox Water

None of the detox water recipes above include raspberries so I’ll speak to their benefits. They are said to have antioxidant compounds that play a potential role against cancer, aging,  and inflammation. Both the raspberries and the grapefruit are excellent sources of vitamin C, which is great to help boost your immunity too!
Take some time to figure out what detox water might work best for your personal taste and your goals. Enjoy!
