Summer is just around the corner. Are you ready? What makes a great summer for you? What makes summer fun? Here are 10 suggestions from my great summer playbook that will hopefully inspire you to have the best summer yet.
Check out Giveaway Hop at end of post!
Create Cozy Outdoor Spaces This time of year, I love making my outdoor spaces look beautiful. Set out the outdoor furniture with some pillows and plants. Make your outdoor spaces as comfortable as possible. Getting the fresh air will do you good.
Clean Out Your Closet The change of season is a great time to purge clothes from your closet that you no longer wear. Donate items in good condition to local charities. If you have dress clothes you no longer use, consider charities like Dress for Success that help women get back into the workforce to become self sufficient.
Make a Summer Reading List Take some time to read a few great books this summer. Vacation time on the beach, or even home in a hammock provides quiet time to escape with a good book. A recent favorite of mine is The Girl on a Train.
Grow a Garden Whether you love flowers or vegetables, plant a garden and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Dahlias, Black-Eyed Susans, Impatience, and marigolds are some great choices for summer color. I’m also growing fresh peppers and tomatoes.
Freshen Up Your Guest Room Many people host out of town guests over the summer. Freshen up your guest room with some new pillows or wall art. Welcome guests with fresh flowers and new towels.
Take Pictures Nothing helps preserve memories of summer like photographs. Have an out of date camera? Now is the time to get a new one. Consider making a Summer 2016 picture book at the end of the season. It will be something you can cherish for years to come.
Take a Class Step away from the TV, computer, or whatever is your “time waster.” Take that class you have always wanted to. I’m taking a rock climbing class this summer. My daughter is learning Hip Hop. What will you do?
Camp Under the Stars Summer is the perfect time for camping. Buy or borrow a tent for a fun summer night. Camp at a national park, a local campground, or even pitch the tent in your backyard to experience the fun of camping.
I’ve teamed up with the folks at The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island for another fun Giveaway Hop. So many great bloggers with terrific giveaways. Hop around and good luck! My prize is a $25 Amazon gift card.
