3 Great Ways to Stay Fit on a Budget
There are two things every woman loves. She loves having a strong, healthy body and she loves saving money. But how can we combine the two worlds together?
I found myself needing to move a little more and get back to an active lifestyle after the birth of my son. But the cost of daycare on top of a gym membership just wasn’t in the budget for our family. I started to look for some creative, more affordable options and I loved what I found. Here are my top 3 favorite ways to stay fit on a budget!
1. Download an app
There are so many fitness apps available that you are bound to find the one you need.
Check out the Johnson & Johnson Official 7 Minute Workout app. The name might be long but the workouts are less than 10 minutes. You can break a sweat and have time to relax before your child even wakes up from their nap.
I’ve been an avid runner for years now and am so impressed with the GPS system on MapMyRun. It’s the only app that can keep up with all of the hiking trails I like to take.
And I always reach for the 30 Day Fitness Challenges when I have a beach vacation coming up. You can pick and choose strength training exercises and target areas you’d like to work on. I can’t recommend this one enough!
2. Search the internet
This is 2015. The internet is loaded with resources for staying in shape and a lot of it’s free.
I completely stopped paying for workout DVD’s when I found sites like FitnessBlender and YouTube. If they don’t have what you need, do a quick Google search and I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for.
3. Use the great outdoors
The fresh air is free and invigorating so be sure to use it! Changing scenery in the late afternoon can really give you the energy you need to finish the rest of the day. It’s so important to get outside and give yourself a break from all of the distractions (i.e. Facebook and Twitter) in life.
You should never have to hurt your bank account just to feel strong and look good. I know I’m not the only one with a tight budget. So let’s use these tips to rock that swimsuit and save money this summer!

Mostly I just walk outside or fish or swim when it’s nice outside! I also use a lot of those apps, though I need to check out that Johnson & Johnson one for sure! Now, do you have a post on how to eat healthy on a budget? Because that’s where I really struggle!
