Do famous quotes ever inspire you to do something out of your comfort zone? Traveling solo is something I never thought I would do. Yes, when I was 29, I embarked on a 30-day solo trip to Australia and New Zealand. This travel quote inspired me to get out there and do it: “ Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” -Helen Keller.
I’m now part of a wonderful group of women who share their adventures online. This week, I’m sharing 5 travel quotes along with destinations that will hopefully inspire you to give new destinations a try.
5 Travel Quotes and Amazing Destinations to Inspire You
Words can be so powerful. They can ignite change and shift perspectives. Here is a collection of the 5 of my favorite travel quotes to motivate you to explore the world! Let these words and amazing destinations inspire you to live a more adventurous life.
I love this quote by Jennifer Lee. While it can be influential in other areas, I find it perfect for travel inspiration, don’t you? It tells you to be bold in pursuing your passions and desires.
Bangkok: Wat Pho
I selected this destination from Wandertoes travel blog to accompany it. Having been to Thailand myself, this post shares amazing photos and information about the Wat Pho temple in Bangkok. It is one of the oldest temple complexes in Thailand and a sight that I think should be on everyone’s travel bucket list. Megan says: “The colors, the details, and the architecture are not at all western at all, which is, of course, exactly as it should be.” See her full article here.
Budget Camping in Africa
What I love about this travel quote is the inspiration to see new things and places that are a bit off the grid. Susan from ThisBigWildWorld.com is a super adventurous traveler. She definitely went off the beaten path with a budget camping safari in Africa. I love this part of her adventure: “I don’t know why, but I assumed there would be some sort of barrier preventing lions, baboons, and other animals from walking right up to my tent. There’s not.” Her guide advised her group not to leave their tents at night. I don’t think I could hold my bladder that long. LOL! Check out the rest of her post here.
How can you not be inspired by this next travel quote? Once I got the travel bug, I did not understand how some of my relatives never left the US. Luckily, I think my adventures inspired them. I know it did for my father. I asked him to join me in Paris after my backpacking journey through Europe. After that, he’s been a world traveler and currently lives in Thailand. Now he is the one who inspires me.
10 things to do in Cuba
This Romanian family is traveling the world with their toddler. They are certainly more courageous than my family. We didn’t go to Europe with the kids until they were 10 and 12. Anyway, Cuba is a destination on my bucket list and this post makes me want to go there even more. Alina says, “A trip to Cuba has a particular charm and offers an experience you can’t find anywhere else.” Riding in one of Cuba’s famous classic cars is another bucket list experience for me. See their recommendations for 9 more things to do in Cuba here.

What I love about this quote is how it inspires travelers to be spontaneous. Some of my most memorable travel experiences were not planned. It’s important to be flexible when traveling. Turn left when you planned on turning right. You may be surprised by what you find.
I completely agree with this next quote. Travel is so much more rewarding than anything else you can buy. The memories last a lifetime. Did you know that travel is even good for your health? Experiences new surroundings and cultures and this can reset your body and mind. Certainly better than what you can find in any store.
THE BEST ONE-WEEK SOUTHERN SPAIN ITINERARY
Want to visit the oldest palace still in use in Europe? Look no further than this wonderful 7-Day Andalusia Road Trip in Spain. As a Game of Thrones fan, the Alcazar of Seville is a must see for me. Or Amir has done such a beautiful job with this itinerary. Her photos are to-die-for as well. Spain may be on our travel list very soon. How about you?
