I have sensitive skin so I am typically hesitant to say yes when a skin care company asks me to review one of their products. After doing some research and learning that Radical Skincare is quite a high end line, I decided to give it a try. I was given the Instant Revitalizing Mask. At 45, my skin often needs a bit of revitalization for sure.
The first thing I noticed was the company promise.
After reading it, I really wanted to learn more about the company and the sisters who created it. Inside the package, is small book about Rachel and Liz Edlich and their inspirational words about living a radical life. I never expected to be so inspired by a skin care product, but I found myself sitting in the bathroom reading much of the book. You can receive a free copy of this book by signing for the company newsletter or check it out in the online version on the Radical Skincare website.
One of my favorite sections of the book talks about Radical Self.
The one area of Radical living that I seem to overlook is self. To be completely honest, self care seems to happen only when I get so maxed out on everything and everyone needing something from me, that I ask myself, ‘What about me?’ It has happened to me again and again. There are times when I open my eyes and say, ‘Why am I so tired, uninspired and feeling this emptiness? Why does this feel so familiar?’ Work, kids, marriage, friends and family seem to take up every free moment, and I forget to squeeze out some time for the things that bring me personal joy.
I can really relate to this, as I think many moms can. It was nice to be reading these words when I was actually taking some time for myself. Sure, it was ultimately for a blog review, but it was still time for me. OK, on to the actual product…
The company recommends that you apply the mask twice a week on cleansed dry skin. Let the mask activate and dissolve after several minutes and then rinse. Ideally, you would then follow with one of their moisturizing products, which I have not had the opportunity to try. I will say that I LOVE the sensation of this mask. It’s like having tiny little bubbles smooth away imperfections. It’s a delightful tingling and not at all irritating to my skin. The first time, I neglected to shake the container, so the serum did not activate very well on my skin. The second time, I shook the bottle and applied a slightly thicker layer and the mask did it’s work. Here are my very glamorous photos. LOL!
As you can see in the photo on the bottom left, the product starts to bubble away as it works. When the product is basically finished this bubbling, it nearly disappears with only a slight white film left to rinse away. The last photo is me clean and revitalized. The company claims the following benefits for the Instant Revitalizing Mask:
- Optimize oxygen resources for a lasting youthful glow
- Stimulates energy production
- Controls oxidation reactions
- Smoother skin
My skin felt really good. My fine lines were minimized and my skin felt a bit tighter and firmer as well. I think it did give me a bit of a youthful glow a well and this was all with only one use. I have sinced used the product a number of times and continue to see benefits in the quality of my skin. I have never experienced a mask quite like this one. Other masks can be so heavy on the skin and take a while to wash off like those with clay or mud. I love the way this mask basically bubbles itself away almost taking imperfections with it. This company video helps you see the detail even more:
The Radical Skincare Line can be found at Sephora. The Instant Revitalizing Mask is $65. I’ve already done 3 masks and there seems to be plenty left. Considering that it’s like giving yourself a facial, the price seems reasonable. For more reviews and information about Radical Skincare, follow the hashtags #radicalskincare #radicalatsephora. I think it’s wonderful radical skincare pushes a mission of self value and worth with their skincare collection. It is so true that skincare and spa is so much more than a routine for healthy skin, it is a mantra for a healthy spirit and soul!
