How are your energy levels? If you are like many people, you experience a slump in your energy one or more times in an average day. I tend to get very sluggish around 3:00 every afternoon. Here are my top ideas to help boost your energy all day:
Don’t Skip Breakfast
We have all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it really is. Studies show that people who eat breakfast maintain better energy throughout the day. They are often in a better mood too. One of my favorite go-to breakfast options is a delicious smoothie.

Take a Brisk Walk
It can be challenging to get moving when your energy levels are low, but experts say that increasing your physical activity, walking in particular, increases energy. When the weather is nice, I love a brisk walk around the neighborhood. In the winter, I’ll even walk around my kitchen island for a few minutes if I am feeling sluggish.
Did you know that stress is a huge energy zapper? According to Dr. Paul Baard from Fordham University, “Stress is the result of anxiety, and anxiety uses up a whole lot of our energy.” Do what you can to minimize stress in your day. I try breathing exercises and yoga to help restore calm.
Have a Power Snack
All snacks are not treated equal. A true “power snack” combines protein, a little fat and some fiber. The carbs offer a quick boost, the protein keeps your energy up and the fat makes the energy last. The Premier Protein bars are a great go-to power snack for me.
