Last week, I had the pleasure of attending the New England International Auto Show, known to locals at the Boston Auto Show. She Buys Cars and Toyota hosted a wonderful group of social media influencers to share what’s new and exciting in their line. We also had the opportunity to explore the floor to see what other car brands have to offer for 2017.

@NJ.Rogner – Scotty from @shebuyscars is a wealth of information about the auto industry. “Trucks are the backbone of our economy, when people buy trucks, a lot are used for business reasons. Toyota manufactures trucks in Texas.”

What’s New?

One of my personal favorites was the new Toyota Prius Prime. It’s first plug-in hybrid for Toyota. Being eco-friendly is very important to me. We are thinking about a plug-in or hybrid for our next car.

@SheBuysCars – “@toyotausa wins again in style and eco-tech with a 640 mile range and up to $4500 in tax credits available. Add in some super savvy #tech with apps to do everything from control temperature to locating your vehicle”

A few other cars in the Toyota line that were a hit with the influencers.

@30somethingmotherrunner – So excited to check out all of the #hybrids like this @toyotausa RAV 4 at the Boston Auto Show!

Safety and Giving Back

A big story out of the show was the focus on driver safety, which is especially important to those of us with teen drivers.

@thegorgeousingredient – @Toyota brings new technology, Safety Sense. Supports driver awareness, decision making and vehicle operation over a wide range of speeds and conditions.

We also learned how local Toyota dealer Groppone Toyota receives matching grants from Toyota to donate to charities of their choice. One charity is Five Rivers Conservation Trust. They are dedicated to protecting open space across the heartland of central New Hampshire

Influencers were also quite impressed with the 2017 Lexus line. Qiana from @HarlemLoveBirds says “sometimes a mama needs to dream!”

What else caught our eye?

Besides the Toyota line of products, here are a few other cars that wowed our influencers. @JeffCutler spotted this speed and sporty Maserati. This is one I’d like to take for a spin myself.

Semira says she’d like to be considered for the next Fast & Furious with a shout out to Vin Diesel. I’d totally like to join her for that one. @KrausHouseMom says her husband would love this Lincoln Continental.

@thegorgeousingredient picked up this fun fact that the Infiniti Q60 was the first of its kind to drive on the streets of Cuba in 59 years.

@swtcrazylife was impressed by “the hybrid hitting the market this year is the Ionic from @hyundaiusa …with 3 models a hybrid, hybrid plug in, and all electric vehicle.”

We also got tips on how to take great pics for our Instagram feeds from photographer Regan of @VentureTravelist. I love the angle she suggested for @jeffcutler to take this shot.

I love that there were even a few classics to help us remember the early days of the automotive industry. Isn’t this one a beauty?
