For the holiday season, why not create an extra special gift for the special people in your life. For our family, my kids and I really wanted to create something extra special for my husband. Throughout the past year, he has gone above and beyond the call of duty. I struggled with a recurring illness that left my husband to play the roll of both mom and dad. He took on this challenge without complaint and kept everything in our lives running smoothly.
We thought it would be a fun idea to create an Extra Special Daddy gift basket from me and the kids. In the basket, we included Extra Gum as a great symbol of how he is so Extra special in our lives. Both kids created personal artwork to give to him and I framed a cute photo of the kids. In addition, we picked out a “World’s Best Dad” mug and decided to turn it into a “Special Memories” vessel.
We created individual slips of paper with some of our favorite Daddy/Husband memories. We wrote things like “Riding the roller coaster,” “Swinging in a hammock together,” and “Teaching me to ice skate,” to name a few. The kids got a kick out of thinking up the special memories that they wanted to share with their dad. My husband had a great time going through all the memories.
My husband has our #ExtraGumMoments gift basket in his office to help remind him how special he is to us. Extra Gum is a fun and easy way to thank those people who have gone out of their way to give a little extra to you. They gave extra, now you can give Extra! Why not take the time to create a Special Memories gift for a loved one.

What an awesome post! It’s so important to always thank the people in our lives who go that ‘extra’ mile, and it sounds like your husband totally deserves it. Thanks for sharing! #client
I love baskets and personalized gifts. Combining the two like this is a great idea!
This is super cute! I would send a package like that!!
I’d love to thank my mom for being such a rock through the years. I love how you put special activities with the kids. π
Oh what an awesome gift to make the mug into a memory vessel. I like that idea. I’m sorry you have been ill. Hope you are feeling better around the holidays. π
A gift basket sounds like a great idea when you want someone to know they’re Extra special!
That is a really cute idea. I think it could even be adapted for a teacher holiday gift, too!
That is such a great gift basket. I find it hard to gift my husband sometimes.
A daddy basket is a great idea, and I’m sure he love it (and you and the kids loved giving it). And hurrah that he stepped up so beautifully when you needed him to. I love that, and I’m glad you’re feeling better!
What a cute gift idea! I can see this being a great gift from children.
