Warmer months naturally mean more time spent in the sun. What is your relationship with sunscreen? Do you use it daily? Only use it at the beach? Do you skip it during the colder months? Did you know that 2 out of 3 women know they should wear a daily sunscreen, but only 1 in three actually do? If you are not using an SPF product daily, I’ve got a story that will hopefully change your mind.
When I was younger, I worshiped the sun. Using a product with SPF 8 was A LOT of sunscreen in my youth. Instead, I used tanning gel and even baby oil. YIKES! I’ve paid the price. During a visit to the dermatologist late last year, he found a basal cell carcinoma just above my lip. After completing the removal of the skin cancer, I was left with a one-inch scar from my lip to my nose. At first, I was devastated. Now, I use my scar to warn a new generation about using sunscreen daily.
Daily sunscreen is my new normal
Not all sunscreens are created equally. So many are greasy, heavy, leave white streaks on the skin, don’t work well with makeup, and smells too strong. Who would want to wear it every day? You need to try Olay Complete All-Day Moisturizer SPF 15. Here’s why:
- It provides long-lasting hydration
- Your skin feels soft and moisturized all day long
- The formula is ultra lightweight and super easy to wear
- It’s packed with antioxidants that help to condition your skin
I’ve been using Olay Complete for years and I love how easy is it to apply makeup with this moisturizer. It’s so much easier to cover my scar too, it practically disappears! I don’t feel oily and greasy like I do with other SPF creams. My dermatologist says it’s super important to wear sunscreen daily, even in winter, when it’s cloudy, etc.
A Challenge to You
Tell us about your current relationship with SPF: Are you a daily devotee? A beach-day-only kind of gal? Why do or don’t you wear SPF every day? Be honest! I encourage you to put Olay SPF to the test. You can buy it at BJ’s in an exclusive 2-pack here.

I love Olay, it’s always in my bathroom. This particular product was recommended to me by my dermatologist at my last visit!
First I think Olay has amazing products already but it makes it so easy to use sunscreen when its added into something you’ll use daily. I love how Olay thought to be proactive and include it within something that women are guaranteed to use. It just makes life easier.
That is definitely scary to find skin cancer. It is so important to protect our skin, and daily sunscreen is the way to go. I’ll have to check this out – I work in a greenhouse and get a lot of sun, and I should be more careful.
I really would love to try this sometime. Olay makes some really good product.
Olay is known for its quality products. Sunscreen again is vital to protect the skin from harmful UV rays. This product looks really effective.
I want to try that Olay brand. My husband has a severe skin reaction when exposed with direct heat 0f the sun.
I have always loved Oil of Olay products! I have tried to get much better with sunscreen after years of no screen and something like this that brings moisture to my skin would be great.
Oh this is a must for me and my family. I use it daily and it’s so important to do so you can protect your skin. The sun is no good to your skin and I wish people would take this more serious.
I make sure to wear at least 50 spf every single day. In an age in which cancer affects everyone in one way or another, it cannot be understated how important it is to protect from the sun.
I agree that this is SO important. I always make sure to put on some sunscreen product on my face, and I need to be better about the rest of my body too.
I am super fair, redhead and literally everything I put on my skin has sunscreen. I won’t leave the house unless I have sunscreen on. The older I get, the more I burn these days.
Sunscreen is important. I used to tan, with baby oil, as well. My Mom never tanned or was outdoors much and still managed to develop skin cancer so that shows everyone should take precautions.
Having several family members battle skin cancer, coverage and protection is a big part of my everyday. I love Olay products.
I definitely need to find something that I can use every day. There are more wrinkles coming and I don’t like it. I will have to try this and see if it works for me.
I have to admit I need to try and make sure I am using a daily sunscreen more it is one thing I tend to forget, I love the fact that Olay include it – even more reason to buy their products.
I’ve always liked Olay products. And yes, I always put sunscreen on. It can get incredibly hot in Texas, so sunscreen is a must.
Olay has always had great line of products. Keeping your skin protected from the damage the sun can do is very important.
I’ve met a lot of young-looking women in my travels and their #1 secret is wearing sunscreen. It’s really vital!
I love moisturizers that have sunscreen. This brand is one of my favorites. I wish I had known how important sunscreen was to care for my skin, during my rebellious tanning days.
I tend to forget some things, but never to remember to put SPF on before I go out into the heat!
As a South Florida resident, I know the importance of wearing moisturizers with SPF and such. Regardless of where you live, it’s always good to take care of your skin.
This is definitely apart of my daily routine and I’ve upped it to SPF 30 for the summer. I love Olay products.
I’m sorry to hear about what happened to your lip before. As you have pointed out, protection really pays off and I wouldn’t even hesitate to use Olay and their products. They’re really easy to use or apply.
There certainly are generational items we have discovered like this. The discoveries we learn the hardest are the ones we must pass on to the next generation! Thanks for sharing your story.
Really wish I had know this when I was a teenager. Now is just as important better late than never.
I was a sun worshiper in my early years and it was not smart. Now I don’t even go in the sun, but only with sunscreen.
My husband has a large scar on hs nose from the removal of a basal cell. We all need to wear sunscreen when going out and this moisturizer should be a part of it.
