Healthy Meals with Diet-to-Go Review
As a busy mom, it can be challenging to eat healthy on the go. Mornings are filled with getting the kids ready for school. I am lucky if I get a cup of tea down before I am racing out the door. I usually pop in a few whole wheat waffles, scarf them down and then I am off to the gym. The rest of the day, I am running errands, blogging, doing laundry, grocery shopping, volunteering at school, etc. So, lunch is often a quick salad or frozen meal. With dinners, I try to be healthier, but unfortunately, I am not the best cook. I am also not very creative when it comes to making healthy meals. Pile a bunch of healthy stuff on a salad or in a stir fry and I am good to go.
Recently, I tried the Diet-to-Go meal delivery service for a week. It’s like they knew that I needed healthy on-the-go diet meals to incorporate into my busy life. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
I am quite a “connoisseur” of frozen diet meals from the typical grocery stores, and some higher-end meals at natural food stores. So, I figured I was a pretty good candidate to judge how the Diet-to-Go meals measured up. Well, I am in LOVE! Seriously! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Diet-to-Go meals!
Diet-to-Go offers three different meal plans to choose from (click each header for more info and sample menus).
- Healthy Low-Fat Meals

Having never followed a low-carb meal plan, I chose to give that one a try. For women, Diet-to-Go recommends 1200 calories per day so the delivered meals follow this guideline. Plans vary from 5-7 days a week including either only lunch and dinner only or breakfast, lunch and dinner. With a total of 10-21 meals being delivered be sure you have room in your fridge or freezer. The meals have about a 5 day shelf life in the fridge so you can freeze some too if needed.
I tried the 5-day plan including three diet meals each day. I am usually more of a sweet/carb meal lover for breakfast and NEVER have veggies in my breakfast. I LOVED the change to protein and veggies in the mornings. I felt fuller longer and the protein really gave me great energy. Here are some highlights from my meal choices. Every meal came with a ample veggies on the side. Even meals that I thought I might not like (like green beans for breakfast or cauliflower mash) I really enjoyed. I love that these meals helped me to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. They were all extremely flavorful and never bland.
- Pork Chop Breakfast
- Tomato Muschroom Omelet
- Baked Cajun Salmon
- Chicken Marsala
- Turkey Meatloaf
- Veal Parmesan
If you are thinking this service is going to break the bank, think again. Diet-to-Go is actually the most reasonably priced fresh food delivery service on the market starting at only $6.91 per meal. They also make all of their meals on site and don’t outsource anything.
Customers can log in to an account management tool and do the following:
- make as many meal substitutions as they want
- change their plan
- pause their plan and restart easily
- review nutritional information on each meal (all meals ship with an ingredient list, but not all had nutrition labels).
There are no cancellation fees or gimmick pricing. There is no commitment or contract, and Diet-to-Go has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. You can pause, stop, or restart your plan at any time. I love this!
