Happy Earth Day to you too! Being a green living blogger and family, Earth Day is one of our favorite days! I have been celebrating it ever since I was in high school and was a member of our environmental club in high school!

  3. Very cool! I’ve always loved Earth Day, since I was born and raised in Vermont. But I don’t think I ever even thought about how it was started – And now I know! Thanks Jenn!

  4. I sure wish that South Africa was more Eartaware. In the bigger cities you see a bit more focus on enc=vironment- though not nearly enough. But in the outer areas and the townships, the landscapes are shockingly littered with trash and debris…even getting gas people will simply roll their windows down and chuck out their trash…steps awat from a bin…it really is a problem and there is not notable focus to change it…

  5. Cinny says:

    Happy Earth day!

  12. I was in 5th grade when the first Earth day took place. Amazing that it has lasted all this time!

  13. This is such a worthy celebration and really should have it more than once a year but it is a good start. We’ve been celebrating for a long time now.

  14. Happy Earth Day! As for me, I re-use paper bags when going to the market/grocery until it gets worn out. Another thing that I do is I use unleaded gasoline on my car, however, I try to use public transportation or WALK (mindfully) whenever possible.

Every small contribution counts and if every single person does one helpful thing for our planet, multiply that by billions = HUGE DIFFERENCE.

  15. Teresha says:

great post! I especially liked reading about the history of Earth Day. It would be great if it was a National holiday where we could all have the day to do environmental service projects
