Movie Marathon Night

There is no sense in letting everyone in the family watch a different television all night when you can plan a movie marathon night. The best way to make it interesting and fun for everyone in the whole family is by creating a theme night or by letting everyone pick one of the movies. Once you have everyone on the couch together, you will wonder why it took you so long to get it done.

Play Board Games

Kids and adults of all ages love to play board games. A lot of the most popular board games will even teach your kids life skills. Monopoly is a great lesson about properly handling money. Scrabble teaches kids how to form and spell bigger words. They can also learn strategy techniques by playing games like Chess, Battleship, and Risk. Classic board games like these have been around for so long because they are loads of fun.

Do Career Discovery Activities

If you have a child that is getting ready to start high school soon, then you can do some career discovery activities together. This is a great way to spend time together while also learning the interests your child has. These activities will put your child on a solid career path for their future. For instance, the best way to earn a master degree in social work or another field is by learning and developing those interests early. There are several career discovery sources that help you learn your ambitions by doing several fun activities, so you should have no problem finding the perfect materials for your kids.

Camp in the Backyard

Going to a campsite in the woods can be a long and difficult process, but there should be nothing stopping you from creating a small camp in your backyard. Everyone can tell their favorite scary story while sitting around the fire making s’mores. Since you want to enjoy the experience, you need to pick a day with beautiful weather and no threat of rain to create your backyard camp site.

Technology has made everyone’s life easier, but it is also pulling families apart. Having these four family nights will bring everyone closer together while also having more fun than you’ve had in a long time.

Excellent suggestions! My kids are all grown but I agree family time is a lost necessity and I firmly believe it produces a stronger, well rounded and confidant adult with a good family foundation behind them.
