Let’s face it, ladies. When it comes to Mother’s Day/Father’s Day gift giving, mom’s often get the short end of the stick. I don’t know what it’s like in your marriage, but I am often thinking about what to get my husband for Father’s Day long before the actual day. I know for a fact that my husband often picks out my Mother’s Day gift the night before or the morning of the holiday.
How fair is that, right? I mean I do all the cooking, cleaning, child watching, etc. All he does is work… all day long… every day. Okay, I guess that does deserve a little recognition once a year, right? So, I came up with an awesome idea for this year. This year, I am going to get my husband a Father’s Day gift that I will love, too. I came up with a few ideas, and I thought I’d share them with you.
A Gym Membership
I don’t know about your husband, but my husband tends to put on a few pounds during the winter months. So, what about a dual gym membership? Many gyms offer discounts when two people sign up at once. Or, you and your husband could sign up for a six-week shred program and get fit together. An added bonus is that working out together can help you and your husband grow closer together and put a little spark back into your marriage.
A Day Pass to a Resort
While you and your husband might be in the same building for this gift idea, you probably won’t be doing the same things. You can enjoy a nice day of relaxation at the spa while your husband wins back the price of the gift plus some at the poker tables. Then, he can unwind during a round of golf while you tan by the pool while drinking a cocktail. How does that sound?
An Outing with Your Kids
Buy your husband and son a pass to the local batting cages, mini golf or go-kart course. They can have a great time bonding. What’s in it for you? A quite (or at least quieter) house for a few hours! Maybe an outdoor adventure in your local area.
The Classic Grill Gift
While this may seem a little cliche for a Father’s Day gift, there is a reason why so many wives give their husband’s a grill for Father’s Day. Because there is fire involved, your husband will be more than happy to cook dinner while you relax and enjoy someone else doing the cooking for once!
Those are just a few ideas that I’ve had for a Father’s Day gift that I can also benefit from. Whatever you end up getting, your husband will appreciate knowing that he is appreciated. Good luck picking just one! And, don’t forget to enjoy your… I mean his gift!
