Stretch Your Fitness to New Levels with Da Vinci Body Board

Fitness Body Board Review

Want a fantastic workout in as little as 20 minutes? Look no further than the Da Vince Body Board. This is the most impressive exercise product I have come across in a long time. It is a big ticket item at nearly $400, but the investment is well worth it. It’s like having your own Pilates and Yoga studio along with a cardio and strength training machine in the comfort of your own home.

Floery Mahoney, the creator of the Da Vinci BodyBoard (DVBB, for short) is a life-long, avid fitness enthusiast. As her life got busier with work and child rearing, she was continually on the lookout for a sustainable workout that would better suit her busy, and often hectic, lifestyle.

How it Works

According to the Da Vinci Body Board Website:

The BodyBoard system combines strength training and cardio in one short, daily workout system. The system works for any fitness level is designed to build long, lean, muscles. As a result, it can be used daily. This facilitates a more habit-forming exercise regime. Because of the short time commitment, there are no excuses.

The board’s innovative “opposing tension” core workout system forces your abdominal muscles to act as a hinge between your upper and lower body, providing a workout like no other. You will follow a different routine each day using muscles you never knew you had.

I had a blast trying the DVBB. There is really no end to the variety of exercises to work the entire body. Once you purchase a DVBB, you are given access to a wonderful library of exercise videos. Workouts are challenging, but can easily be modified for all fitness levels. In addition, the DVBB comes with two sets of exercise bands allowing you to increase the resistance as you get stronger. I found the “easier” bands to be perfect for my current fitness level.

The body board system is easy to setup, but you will need a reasonably large space for workouts. The board is 96 inches long and you’ll need space on either side for lateral movements. The latex resistance bands attach to handles and ankle straps to work every area of your body. When you’re done, the Vermont crafted, baltic birch wooden platform folds neatly for easy storage. The DVBB also comes with a specialized mat that fits the entire length of the board. I like that I don’t need to adjust my own mat as I switch exercises.

Even my daughter wanted to give it a try.

The DVBB lends itself to some classic Pilates exercises. It can also be used to add resistance and balance challenges to your Yoga practice. Traditional strength training moves are easy to incorporate as well. In addition, Floery has created a dance-based program using resistance bands that connect to the entire length of the board on either side. This is a great cardio workout that is both fun and challenging. I put on some motivating music and rocked out for this dance workout.

The Da Vinci BodyBoard is gaining fame with features on NBC’s TODAY Show, Self Magazine, and Joy Bauer’s segment, “What’s Hot in Health.” For more information on the Da Vince Body Board. Check out their website at DaVinciBodyBoard.com. I give it two thumbs up for sure!
