Get Ready for Back-to-School Time with LEAN CUISINE® & NESQUIK® #FoodMadeSimple
Can you believe that Back-to-School time is practically around the corner? While it may seem far away, it’s not a bad idea to start planning your family schedules and routines ahead of time. In our household, both of our children will be attending new schools. This will mean a new morning routine for all of us. My son will need to be at the bus stop at 7am (YIKES!) and I’ll be driving my daughter to her new school, which is about 25 minutes away.
This summer, my kids are in two different camps so I’m getting a good taste of juggling two different schedules. Getting ready and out the door on time can be a challenge. We are working on making our transitions smoother as a “practice run” for the busy school year ahead. I’ve created a checklist that we are trying to follow. It’s still a work in progress, but we are getting there.
When the kids are still bit tired and cranky, getting them to eat a good breakfast can be a challenge. My daughter loves NESQUIK® Strawberry milk so we decided to use it in a morning smoothie with frozen berries and yogurt. Shhh, I sometimes sneak in a cup of kale and she doesn’t even know it’s there. Smoothies are an excellent way to “hide” extra veggie servings. Both my kids love it!
My son is not a fan of plain milk. Adding NESQUIK® chocolate syrup gets a full glass of milk in him each morning so it gets a big thumbs up from me. I often include a bottle of chocolate NESQUIK® for his lunch too. The added protein helps him stay full longer so he’s not absolutely ravenous the moment he comes home.
I’ve realized that I’m often the last one to grab breakfast, or even skip it, in order to get everyone out the door. Looking for quick and easy options, I found the LEAN CUISINE® Morning Collection™. I love the Turkey Sausage English Muffin. It’s super easy to make and take on-the-go if needed. After all, this mom needs solid fuel to shuttle the kids around in the “Mom Taxi” all morning.
My meal may not always look this pretty, but it gets the job done. Skipping breakfast can really ruin my day and cause a major mid-morning energy slump. Have you given any thought to your back-to-school planning? If not, it may be time to start. We can swap stories once the madness really begins. It will be here before we know it. At least NESQUICK® and LEAN CUISINE® can help us make breakfast time a bit easier.
I easily found our back-to-school breakfast items at my local Walmart. I think my daughter would have purchased ANYTHING from the NESQUIK® strawberry family. She wanted the milk, syrup and the powder. We settled on the milk, and the syrup, which we also love over ice cream for dessert.

My oldest is starting Kindergarten next month and I am already planning our morning routine. Lean Cuisine Morning Collections are already on my list. #client
I would have never thought to sneak the kale into the morning smoothie! I should try this trick on myself!! LOL
I didn’t realize Lean Cusine had breakfast, I will have to add a few of these in the freezer for the start on the school year.
Don’t say that – I am so not ready for summer to end and school to start! Great to know though. I honestly haven’t thought of the school lunches yet
I can not believe that it is already back to school time! Summer goes too fast!
I can’t wait for school. I miss our routine! Thanks for the ideas to make it easier.
I have been wanting to try these breakfast muffins. I love breakfast more than any meal but you can really lay on the calories there too! I could eat two of these and still be under my calorie limit!
Oh, the strawberry syrup over ice cream sounds awesome!
I laugh looking at your daughter in the morning… I was that way growing up. One year my parents sent me to sleepover camp for a few days. I had braids in when they dropped me off. When they came back I still had the same braids in (well kind of) and I looked like a freak. I decided it was a good time to not brush my hair at all!
I’m not looking forward to this school year where my kids are now in 2 different schools. I will have to try that smoothie on my daughter!
I haven’t started back to school planning yet. Ours don’t go back until the end of August.
It’s hard to believe that it’s time for school to start again! Where did the summer go?
I love to keep a few Lean Cuisine entrees in my freezer for those days when I don’t have time to pack a lunch! I have a hard time finding my favorite meal (orange peel chicken) and wondered if they discontinued it.
Sounds like a good morning breakfast and routine!
It really is quite amazing how fast this year is going! Before you know it it WILL be back to school time and…Winter *shudders*
Thankfully I don’t have to worry about the former but I don’t even want to think about the latter!
I’ve been trying to focus more on breakfast and morning starts lately. It’s been hard to eat before noon in the past, with all I was doing but solutions like these make it easy for me and the kids to get our fuel for the day.
Not having human children I never really worried about the back to school issues. I was the pick up for my goddaughter for two years from day care because I got home earlier than her mother. That was fun.
