Some parts of the country are already back at school. If your family is not yet ready, here are some ideas to get your family back on track for that first week of school.
Adjust sleep schedules
If your kids are on a different sleep schedule during the summer, start dialing back bedtime by 15 minutes each day to help them get used to the school year sleep hours. Set the alarm a few days in advance to practice getting up on time too.
Prep that paperwork
Schools typically have a lot of back to school paperwork. If you have online access to these forms, take some time to get it all in order BEFORE the first day of school. You’ll be glad you did.
Plan First Day Outfits
This tends to matter more for girls than boys, but either way, be sure your kids have picked out what they want to wear for the first day of school. Set the outfit aside so it’s clean and ready to go.
Stock Up on Lunch and Snack Supplies
If you have not done so already, take some time to stock up on lunch and snack supplies. For my house, after school snacks are especially important. The kids come home famished. You would think they did not eat all day before they came home.
We recently had the opportunity to try goodnessknows Snack Squares and we love them! They are quite delicious and very satisfying. They are made with whole nuts, real fruits, toasted oats and dark chocolate with no artificial colors, flavors or sweeteners.
goodnessknows Snack Squares come in three terrific flavors:
Cranberry Almond Dark Chocolate – Roasted almonds and rolled oats with a hint of natural sweetness from tangy, dried cranberries.
Apple Almond & Peanut Dark Chocolate – Crunchy peanuts, roasted almonds and tangy apples combine for a delicious snack, after-meal treat, or on-the-go fuel for your favorite outdoor activity.
Peach & Cherry Almond Dark Chocolate – Sweet peaches and cherries, along with wholesome roasted almonds and deep chocolate blend together for a satisfying crunch.
These naturally nutritious snacks are full of flavor and goodness. Divided into four snackable squares per serving. goodnessknows Snack Squares deliver 120mg of cocoa flavanols to help support the healthy circulation of oxygen and nutrients in your body. Each four-square serving has 2-3 grams of fiber, 3 grams of protein, and just 150 calories.
Great for kids (and adults) after school, or anytime. I love them for an after workout snack.
goodnessknows recently launched nationwide. Look for them where other snacks/snack bars are sold or check out www.goodnessknows.com where you can find a list of participating stores.
