As I mentioned in my review of the Hamilton Beach Stand Mixer, I am a reluctant cook. What I love about tools like this mixer is that they help challenge me to try something new. With my first attempt, I decided to make something easy like cupcakes. The hand mixer made it super easy to blend the ingredients together. My daughter loved helping out too.
Here are the key features of this Hamilton Beach Hand Mixer:
- Snap-on storage case
- Coated beaters softly scrape bowl for thorough mixing
- SoftScrape™ beaters won’t scratch bowls or nonstick pots and are durable and dishwasher safe
- 290 Watts peak power
- Also includes metal whisk and dough hooks
- Quick Burst™ button
I was a bit skeptical if the soft scrape beaters would really grab the mix at the edges of the bowl, but it did quite well. I would not say it eliminates all scraping off the sides, but it does minimize it. My only complaint is that I think the lowest speed still a bit fast. The batter splattered a bit until I got used to the rhythm. That said, I suppose my bowl may have also been a bit too shallow. Once we got the hang of it, both my daughter and I were able to mix with success. The Quick Burst function is cool if you see a little lump you want to blend quickly.
The feature I really like is the snap on storage case. There is nothing worse than hunting down mixer parts and not being able to find them. This is such a great way to keep everything together and organized. The beaters, whisk and dough hooks are also easy to snap in and remove.
Now it’s your turn to enter to win a Hamilton Beach Soft Scrap Hand Mixer. Don’t forget to enter to win their Stand Mixer too. Good luck!
