Healthy After School Snacks – Stuffed Cherry Tomatoes & Bacon Tuna Sliders

Healthy After School Snacks

Like many families, we have a super busy schedule during the school year. My kids have after school activities nearly every day. My son plays soccer and my daughter participates in dance and gymnastics. I make it a point to provide healthy after school snacks to keep them fueled up for their afternoon activities.

Healthy After School Snacks

Two of our favorite healthy after school snacks are Tuna Stuffed Tomatoes and Tuna Turkey Sliders. When the kids are not home until after 7pm some nights, these snacks really hold them over until dinner. Tuna salad was always a favorite of mine growing up. My mom always had Bumble Bee® tuna in the pantry. It’s a tried-and-true product I am happy to make for my children. My mom would be proud.

Healthy After School Snacks

I still use my mother’s recipe for my tuna salad. I like that Bumble Bee® Albacore products are an easy and delicious way to add a variety of nutrients to our diet including lean protein, healthy fat, and important vitamins and minerals. Bumble Bee® Solid White Albacore Tuna in Water contains 13 grams of protein and 0 grams of fat per serving, along with essential Omega-3 fatty acids.

Healthy After School Snacks

I use the same tuna salad for mini “sliders” where I use organic turkey bacon instead of bread. The kids LOVE these too! I get the kids involved with making their snacks. I remind them that making healthy choices help them grow strong and healthy.
