Healthy Eating with Daisy Cottage Cheese

Healthy eating is a top priority for me. One of my go-to staples is cottage cheese. Typically, I enjoy my cottage cheese naked. I eat it right out of the container or plop a huge spoonful next to a salad. I’ve never been all that creative in using cottage cheese in recipes. Daisy Cottage Cheese has completely changed my approach. I am now a cottage cheese connoisseur unafraid to use it in a variety of fun and healthy recipes.

The Daisy website has a terrific recipe section for their cottage cheese. Looking for some new ways to enjoy Daisy Cottage Cheese? Whether you want a main dish recipe or a snack on the go, they have a ton of great ideas. First, I decided to create the Berry Breakfast Parfait. One word… AMAZING!!

This meal was almost too pretty to eat. Did you know that the Daisy Low Fat Cottage Cheese is just 90 calories and 13 grams of protein per 1/2-cup serving? You can enjoy low-fat, 100% natural cottage cheese without giving up the creamy, delicious taste. Oh Yeah!! I love a breakfast like this that keeps me feeling full and satisfied.

Unlike many other cottage cheese brands, Daisy Cottage Cheese has a very basic ingredient list: cultured skim milk, cream, salt. That’s it! Other brands often have 10+ ingredients that can almost read like a chemistry set. No thanks!

My daughter and I tried the Blueberry Banana Smoothie. It makes or a great post-workout recovery drink. I never would have thought to put cottage cheese in a smoothie. It was really thick and delicious. I was full for hours after this one.

Daisy Cottage Cheese is 100% pure, with no additives, preservatives or added growth hormones, which makes me feel better about giving it to my kids too. It’s also an excellent source of protein, a good source of calcium, and gluten free. With a new, contemporary design and colored lids, Daisy makes it easy to spot the regular Cottage Cheese, with dark blue lids, and light blue for the low fat variety.

For book club, I decided to bring the Cucumber Bites. They are so light, yet filling at the same time. They are a burst of flavor that is absolutely delicious. With about 400 calories per 4 pieces, they make for a great lunch or snack too. Yum!

I decided to challenge myself a bit more and create a recipe with Daisy Cottage Cheese for the entire family. Sunday morning is pancake day so I decided to create Protein Packed Pancakes for all. They were welcomed with rave reviews. They freeze well too!
