Healthy Snack Ideas – Terrific Toast Toppers

My family is super busy as the school season begins. After school there is homework to attend to, dance lessons, soccer practice, and more. Making sure my kids have healthy snacks before their after school activities is very important to me. I want to be sure they have the right fuel to make it through to dinner without hearing the “I’m hungry” complaint. Recently, we came up with the idea to have healthy toast snacks.

Both of my kids love toast so I encouraged them to come up with ideas that included healthy toppings. We had fun coming up with a bunch of toast toppers for the entire family to enjoy. We used Rudi’s Organic Bakery® Kids Breads for our recipes.

Berrylicious Toast

  • Rudi’s Organic Bakery® Kids Soft Wheat bread
  • Organic raspberry preserves
  • Fresh organic blueberries – add a smiley face for fun!

Rudi’s Kids Bread is the only nationally available kids’ bread that is certified USDA Organic and non-GMO verified. You can find Original White and Whole Wheat nationwide at Whole Foods Market. Rudi’s Kids Breads come in small, thin slices that are soft and fluffy making them perfect for my picky kids. I gave my daughter one of the whole wheat breads (she’s typically white bread only) and she loved it. Woo hoo! That’s a major win for this mom!

Choco-Banana Toast

  • Rudi’s Organic Bakery® Kids Soft White bread
  • Fresh banana slices
  • Dark chocolate, peanut butter spread

Did you know that Rudi’s Organic Bakery® has been perfecting the art of crafting authentic bread using organic ingredients for over 40 years? That’s pretty awesome. They bake their breads in small batches made using only pure, honest ingredients that I feel good about giving to my kids – and stealing some slices for myself too. I can’t resist this peanut butter almond toast with dark chocolate chips. I even eat it as an after dinner treat.

Sweet Almond Crunch Toast

  • Rudi’s Organic Bakery® Kids Soft Wheat bread
  • Organic peanut butter
  • Sliced almonds
  • Dark chocolate chips

My son has access to junk food at school so I feel good about feeding him healthy snacks when he gets home. Selecting foods with simple ingredients are important to me. Rudi’s Organic Bakery® Kids Breads have a simple list of ingredients I recognize and can pronounce. I hate products that read like a chemistry set.

Avocado Veggie Toast

  • Rudi’s Organic Bakery® Kids Soft Wheat bread
  • Avocado spread
  • Sliced red pepper
  • Sliced carrots

Both my kids love the taste too. Believe it or not, they are actually picky about their bread. There is one bread that they always want. They were a bit skeptical about trying something new. To get approval from both kids about the Rudi’s Organic Bakery® Kids Breads was a BIG deal.

Strawberry Granola Toast

  • Rudi’s Organic Bakery® Kids Soft White bread
  • Organic plain yogurt
  • Sliced organic strawberries
  • Granola with raisins

This last recipe is my husbands favorite. He’s been having it for breakfast some days. While Rudi’s Organic Bakery® calls these Kids Bread, we “grown ups” love it too! Find out more about Rudi’s Organic Bakery® Kids Soft White and Soft Wheat Breads on their website.
