Can you believe it’s already back-to-school season? It’s such a busy time of year. I’m starting to get things organized. Are you? There are so many things on my list. One of the first things I do is stock up our pantry. Sam’s Club is the perfect place to find what we need, save money, and help our local schools at the same time.

How does shopping at Sam’s help schools?
I’m glad you asked (wink!). Sam’s Club offers a large selection of products that are part of the Box Tops for Education Program. The BTFE program has been around since 1996 and has helped raise over 900 million for America’s schools.
Each Box Top that is turned in gives ten cents to a school of your choice. While, 10 cents may not seem like a lot, getting others involved in the program can raise hundreds, or even thousands by the end of the school year. Far too many teachers pay out-of-pocket for school supplies. There are so many ways that the Box Tops for Education program can help.
Sam’s Club is also offering bonus Box Tops. You’ll earn 12 Box Top credits for every 1 item purchased. That’s over a dollar for each product. That really adds up quickly. You simply have to scan your receipt with the Box Tops app and you will receive this offer!
Fond Memories of Box Tops for Education
When my kids were little, their school held contests to see who could collect the most Box Tops. In one year, their elementary school raised five thousand dollars. I loved to see how proud the kids were when they found out the annual total at a school assembly.
What’s New with Box Tops for Education
Box Tops have gone digital!!! They even have their own app. It makes it even easier to raise money for your school. There is no more clipping or sending the Box Tops to school. It’s so easy:
- BUY Box Tops products
- SCAN your receipt, which automatically recognizes your Box Tops purchases
- EARN cash for your school for eligible purchases
Now that my kids are teens, they love using their phones to make contributions to their favorite school. You can even bump up your earnings with bonus offers in the app. Here are just some of the products you can find at Sam’s Club that participate in the Box Tops for Education program:
Cheerios, Lucky Charms, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Nature Valley, Totino’s, Yoplait, Nestlé™ Pure Life Water Bottles and more. Just look for the Box Tops label on the package. For a complete list of participating products, visit BTFE.com.
You’ll still find the traditional Box Tops clips on packaging until they are completely phased out. But guess what…many brands offer double earnings allowing you to scan your receipts AND turn in the clipped Box Tops (just check that they are not expired). How cool is that?

How You can Help even more!
If your school does not participate in Box Tops for Education®, ask your school principal or administrator to enroll in the program. by calling 1-888-799-2444, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST, seven days a week.

Are you ready for your kids to go back to school? If not, head on over to Sam’s Club to find what you need. While your at it, give back to your schools with Box Tops for Education too!

Even if my children are all grown ups now, we still love helping out our local schools. I give the boxtops I get to my next door neighbor. She has young children in 3rd and 5th grade. I am sure they’ll be happy to receive the boxtops I have collected.

I am so excited they went digital! No more clipping and keeping up with them until the turn in time at school (then relying on the kids to actually turn them in)!
I love what Box Tops does to help schools. We’ve been saving ours for years, and even after our kids graduate, I’ll continue to save them.
