Mommy & Me Polka Dot Holiday Nails with Piggy Paint

cbiasnewpiggypaintheader

My daughter and I love doing our nails. She likes to do mine and I’ll do hers. We decided to create polka dot holiday nails for our upcoming holiday events. We were really excited to hear about a brand of nail polish called Piggy Paint. It is specially formulated from natural ingredients with no toxic chemicals. Nails dry to a hard, durable finish without any harsh smell.

We stopped by our local Walmart to pick up some Piggy Paint. We found it in the “tween” section of the nail polish and makeup. The Piggy Paint comes in a rainbow of colors. We picked out some great colors for our holiday nails and the Piggy Paint polish remover too.

We both love that Piggy Paint is non-toxic, odorless, eco-friendly, hypoallergenic, and kid-friendly. My husband likes it too (the lack of smell, that is) He hates the strong odors when I use regular nail polish. Piggy Paint is also made in the USA, which I am proud to support.

We started with a green base for our nails. The Piggy Paint has a lovely finish with a bit of shimmer. We used a hot pink for the dots. My daughter showed me how to make great dots with a nail dot tool. Make sure to put a tiny blob of your dot color on plastic or ceramic (not paper or it will absorb) to dip your dot tool. You can also use the top of a bobby pin or pencil tip.

Aren’t my nails adorable? I painted my daughter’s toes. She loves showing them off in dance and gymnastics since she is barefoot during those classes.

Nail painting is great for improving fine motor skills. My daughter struggles with her handwriting so practicing dots and squiggles is helpful for her written school work too. Bet you didn’t think of that! For younger kids, you can use Piggy Paint to learn colors and create patterns. The folks at Piggy Paint have some fun ideas.

You can shop for Piggy Paint online too. Use the code: piggypaint for 15% off purchase at piggypaint.comValid through 12/23/14
