A Mattress in a Box? We Check out the OSO Sleep Mattress

Did you ever consider a mattress in a box? It seems to be all the rage to have a mattress delivered to your home actually in a box. I could not believe that one of these mattresses might be something we would want in our home, but when the folks at OSO sleep reached out to me to give their mattress a try, I couldn’t resist. We are desperately in need of a new mattress anyway, so it was perfect timing to give the OSO sleep mattress a try. This post is about the unboxing experience. There will be a future post about our sleeping experience.

About the OSO Sleep Mattress in a Box

Packaging

OSO says they borrowed a page from the magician’s playbook to fit each mattress in a surprisingly small box. Your enjoy free shipping straight to your doorstep.

Soft or Firm? All in one!

The OSO mattress has both soft and firm options in the same bed. Since your pressure points are concentrated in between your shoulders and hips, the mattress focuses on the supporting in those areas. Simply rotate the bed 180 degrees to find your preference.

Pricing

When you buy an OSO mattress, the prices are clear and straightforward without middle-man upcharges. Since they don’t have the overhead costs that come with a physical mattress store, you pay less without sacrificing quality.

Health conscious materials

Each layer of the mattress was carefully chosen to conform to rigorous health and safety standards. From skin-friendly textiles, materials with no off-gassing, and anti-bacterial, dust mite-resistant latex, this sophisticated mattress will have you resting easy.

No boxspring needed

The OSO mattress does not require a boxspring, but it does require that your bed frame have evenly distributed support like wooden slats or even directly on the floor. We purchased bed slats wrapped in fabric to support our OSO mattress.

Our Unboxing Experience

Our box did arrive a bit dinged up, but the mattress inside was fine as it was thoroughly protected in plastic. The unboxing process was pretty easy. Here is our step-by-step process in photos.
