Cleaning the patio is the true start of summer, in my opinion. It’s the first step to family gatherings or simply just sitting outside and watching the world go by. I’ll be honest, I used to take my patio for granted, but after the year and a half we’ve all had, I’ve found that I’m looking forward to spending as much time out there as possible. We’ve decided to add a screened porch to our home. I can’t wait for it to be complete.
Tips for Cleaning the Patio
From the patio deck to the furniture and even the grill, there are lots of areas to be addressed when getting our patios ready for the season, and it’s easy to forget some of them. That’s why I’ve put together a list of tips to make it easier to ensure that your patio and everything connected to it is nice and clean. With these tips, you’ll be ready for the season in no time.
My go-to cleaner for both indoor and outdoor use is PINALEN. It works well, smells great, and makes life so much easier when I’m cleaning anything. When you’re ready to spruce up your deck or patio with the tips below, be sure you have PINALEN on hand.
Clean your tables and chairs using PINALEN all-purpose cleaner. I like to hose down the patio furniture with water to remove excess grime and any spiderwebs before I get in there with my cleaner. After you’ve sprayed the furniture and washed it down with PINALEN, simply rinse it with the hose.
Wash any outdoor furniture cushions you have in the washing machine, PINALEN Fresh Pine or Floral Delight can be added to the washer to help remove stains and deodorize so they have a delightful outdoor aroma. It smells like summer and I love it!
Scrub the Floor
Of course, you’ll have to clean the floor of your patio area, whether it be concrete, wood, or composite decking. Start by giving the floor a good sweep to remove any loose debris. This is best done with a push broom. Then, use a hose and spray attachment to thoroughly wet down the floor, helping to remove even more dirt.
Finally, dilute 1/4 cup PINALEN to 1 gallon of water and scrub the floor area with a scrub brush. If you find staining, give it some extra elbow grease really get the bristles in there. After you’re done, simply spray everything down.
Don’t Forget the Grill
To get your grill nice and clean, use a grill brush to scrape off excess ash and food from the grates and then soak them in soapy water with a bit of baking soda. I used PINALEN Dish Washing Liquid. Give them a good half hour and then rinse and wipe down.
Use PINALEN Fresh Pine multipurpose cleaner to get the exterior of your grill nice and shiny. It’s powerful degreasing agents will help you get all the crud off the grill with ease. Just spray the exterior, let it sit for a few minutes, and then wipe it all away. Easy!
For touch-ups, I use the PINALEN Max Power to-go pack wipes are great! I tried the Lavender Dreams and Summer Fresh wipes. Summer Fresh is my favorite.
Hit the Lights
This post might be about cleaning, but after it’s all scrubbed up, you want a little bit of personality. That’s where light strings and other fun light accessories come in. String lights across the top of your patio if you have a covered situation to make things more fun. You can also find all sorts of fun standing lights for your deck or patio as well like palm trees and such. I can’t wait to have them around our new porch.
Add Some Color with Plants
Potted and hanging plants add color and visual interest to your outdoor space. Try grouping potted plants together to create areas of colorful blooms and greenery. Hanging plants also add pops of color and break up the monotony.
Cleaning with PINALEN is the First Step to Summer Fun
Cleaning and brightening up your outdoor spaces are all the first steps to summer fun. Grab your PINALEN cleaners and get to work so you can be ready for spring. And don’t worry.
