Simple and Healthy Recipes for After School Snacks

Back to school started last week for my family. With both kids starting new schools, it was exciting, and a bit nerve wracking, for all of us. Nothing welcomes the kids home like healthy after school snacks. If you have ever checked out my recipes, “simple to make” is my motto. I like that I can make these snacks super fast so I am ready when my kids step off the bus, especially if they are bringing friends over.

Healthy Banana Split

My first idea was to create a healthy spin on the classic Banana Split. I simply cut a banana down the middle, filled it with Vanilla Yoplait Greek Yogurt, added strawberry slices and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. Viola! Instant healthy snack that the kids LOVED!!

Honey Nut Apples

Next, I created Honey Nut Apples. I compete with the kids to eat this healthy snack. They are so yummy. Again, this is a super easy recipe. Simply slice the apple of your liking (I used Granny Smith). Spread peanut butter on each slice. Add Honey Nut Cheerios. Drizzle with honey. YUMMMMM! Here are three more great healthy snacks using Cheerios.

After School Spritzer

Last, but not least, I created an After School Spritzer using Capri Sun and just a splash of blackberry flavored seltzer. I added a strawberry garnish and umbrella for my daughter’s playdate. The girls loved them!
