Review: Reebok DMX Sky for Women

I was SO EXCITED to be selected to review the Reebok DMX Sky as part of the Fitfluential Ambassador Campaign. I happened to be on vacation and came home to the box on my counter (from our nice neighbor taking in our mail). The anticipation mounted as I opened the box to reveal… Ta da!

WOW! Are these cool or what? I had seen a picture of a black pair and thought I might like those, but these are awesome! What a great color for spring. Now if the snow would just melt so I can test these babies on the road.

My son took them out of the box and said, “Mommy, what’s with the alien pods on the bottom of these shoes?” Funny he should ask, as you might be thinking the same thing. Well, Reebok says:

Rediculous cushioning with three rows of bubbles that create an underfoot stream of moving air to run that turns concrete into clouds. Innovation you can FEEL!

My son was a bit skeptical, and so was I. I have VERY picky feet and was not sure how they would feel fresh out of the box. Drum roll please….. these shoes felt AMAZING!! Seriously, I could not stop hopping around like a little kid. I wore them all day around the house like new comfy slippers. Here is my first Reebok fashion shoot at home:

Should I be a shoe model?

I posted these on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Many of my friends were very jealous. I seriously did not want to take them off. I found it a bit funny that the marketing folks chose the word “ridiculous” to describe the cushioning, but after trying them, I can see why. It’s so much more compelling than saying “very comfy” or “super cushy,” they really are RIDICULOUSLY comfortable!

My next test was a on my home treadmill. That is in my basement so you don’t want to see my laundry hanging behind me (hence no photos here). The Reebok DMX Skys get an A+ from me. I tried walking flat and on various incline setting, gentle jogging and sprinting. All felt terrific! The shoes really do make you feel like you are walking/running on a cloud.

Next, I put my new babies in my gym bag to go to my local boot camp class. I did not want to walk out in the snow or sandy/slushy parking lots. I will keep these pristine for a while more. I was the envy of the class. Many participants and the instructor asked about my shoes. They all thought they looked pretty cool.

This class involved cardio moves like jogging, sprints, jumping rope, etc. Strength moves like lunges, squats, box jumps and step ups. The Reebok DMX Skys performed extremely well. There was only one lateral move on the gym floor where I felt a little slippy, but heck, these are not basketball court shoes. Otherwise, they ROCKED! Here are a few action shots:

As I mentioned before, I have picky feet so the fact that these shoes felt amazing right out of the box is a big deal for me. So, congrats Reebok, you win my Picky Feet Award! I still need to get them out on the road, but so far, these are my favorite shoe as far back as I can remember. Way to go Reebok! They have other great colors too. Which do you like best?
