Have you heard the term Underwareness yet? The folks at Depend are entering year two of their Underwareness social movement. It is a charitable cause to break down the bladder leakage stigma. Did you know that there are more people struggling with bladder leakage in their 20’s than in their 80’s? In fact, more people with bladder leakage are 50 or younger than 60 or older!
I am pretty lucky that I have not had many issues with bladder leakage. That said, it is still an issue that is near and dear to my heart. My mother struggled with bladder control issues starting in her 20’s. In her 30’s, she was diagnosed with MS. Muscle control in general became more and more of a problem. She hated the products that were available back then. She hated how bulky they felt and looked under her clothes. She often bought pants that were 1-2 sizes too big to help hide her need for these products. At the time, she felt ashamed of her problem.
We are lucky to live in a time where wonderful products like Depend Silhouette Active Fit Briefs have come to the market. Not only is Depend providing wonderful new products, but a platform to help people not feel ashamed about having bladder control issues. My mother would have been so happy to help spread the word. I am proud to help do it for her.
The Depends Silhouette Active Fit briefs help women feel more confident too. They have a lower rise that looks and feels like underwear. They come in black and beige to easily work with clothes for all seasons. There is no longer a need to “hide” like my mother did. There is no excuse to get out and be active. Say yes to running! Say yes to yoga pants! Say yes to Underwareness!
Even if you don’t experience bladder leakage, you probably know someone who does. For every photo and video shared using #Underwareness and featuring Depend products, the Depend brand will donate $1, up to $3 million, through 2016 to fund charities that advance the research and education of bladder leakage.
