I can’t believe it’s been nearly 3 years since we brought home our lovable rescue dog. When she came home, she bonded quickly with our family. We named her Panda. My son likes to brag, “Panda is smart, fluffy, cute and awesome. She is the most awesome dog in the world!” My daughter says, “Panda is clever, loves to play, and really fluffy. I love having her in our family.”

Taking Good Care of Our Rescue Dog

We all consider her our rescue dog as a family member. We want to take great care of her in every way. That includes making sure that she is healthy. I’ve assigned the job of being “home vets” to both of my kids. They are responsible for going through a health check weekly and alerting my husband and I if they notice anything different or strange.

To make this job easy, we created a DIY Doggy Health Checklist*. We asked her advice in coming up with our checklist as well. Our vet says:

“It’s important to know your dog’s body to pick up on any changes. Put aside about 5 minutes to pet and feel you dog all over their body. If you spot or feel anything strange, give me a call.”Screen Shot 2016-10-10 at 11.18.11 AMDownload full size DogsHealthChecklist here.*

It’s also important for us to make sure Panda gets the food she needs. We choose Beyond Natural Wet Dog Food as a main part of her diet. We appreciate that Beyond Natural Wet Dog Food contains the ingredients we want for our dog. The Salmon & Sweet Potato Recipe is Panda’s favorite.

As a busy mom, I really appreciate that I can find this and other great Purina products and my local Stop & Shop where the aisles are full of natural and healthy solutions for your pets. It helps save me the time I’d need to make a special trip to the pet store.

Life is likea cup of tea.

In addition to Panda’s food, we want to make sure we keep her teeth health. Did you know that a dog’s oral health can contribute to other health issues if you don’t take good care of it? We want to keep her doggy “smile” bright and healthy. We like Purina DentalLife as her daily dental treat. She loves them! You can try Purina DentalLife with a $2 coupon available at PurinaDentalLife.com.
