If bloggers had their own Halloween and could go from blog to blog collecting “treats,” what would your blog hand out?
After giving this some thought, I would love to give out hugs. Wouldn’t it be fun to be able to meet the bloggers you follow and admire and give them a big hug? Not a hugger? How about a virtual hug? How can you resist this little guy?
I also decided to search for a little more information about hugs. Here is what I found:
Different uses for hugs:
Hugging can be a form of greeting. In some cultures it is typical. In our culture, a hug may be a bit more than the typical “hand shaker” can handle.
Comfort hugs are so nice. They are often given because someone is sad or hurting in some way. I don’t know about you, but I love a good, comforting hug.
Hugs can be used to create a deeper body with another person. Get past that hand shake people and hug!
Obviously, hugging is often used between friends who already have a strong bond. If you can hug a person without worrying about whether they mind, you are likely showing affection.
What kind of hugger are you?
There are so many different ways people hug. What kind are you?
- Initial throwing hands wide
- One- or two-handed hug
- Back-slapping or rubbing
- Squeezing and lifting
- Cheek kissing or touching
- Holding, patting and eye contact
I am probably a squeezer and definitely a two handed hugger. I love the double cheek kiss with my European friends. I wish we did that more here.
So, if you are reading, consider yourself hugged. Would you hug back or would that freak you out? What sort of hugger are you?
Have a safe, health and happy Halloween!
