What’s on Your Bucket List?

What's on Your Bucket List?

The first half of 2013 has come and gone, what are your plans for the second half of the year? For some reason, I started thinking about my bucket list. I think it was because I saw a magazine article about places in the US to include on your bucket list. I was quite proud of myself that I had visited many of the places. Included on the list were:

  • Bryce Canyon
  • Space Needle
  • Bourbon Street
  • Vietnam War Memorial
  • Statue of Liberty
  • See the Northern Lights
  • Glacier National Park

There were more that I can’t remember, but of the list above, I have been to all, but one. I have never been to New Orleans. I am lucky that I have also hit some of my international bucket list locations like Paris, London, Australia and New Zealand. There are many more places I’d like to see, but I realize that I am so blessed to have visited this many places from my travel wish list. Here is a link to my Bucket List on Pinterest. An African Safari is high on my list.

In addition to travel, I’ve been thinking about what else should be on my bucket list. Regarding fitness goals, I have run a marathon. This was back in 2000, it was in Honolulu. If you want to pick one marathon, I highly recommend this one. I completed P90X, which was a post-pregnancy goal of mine. It really helped my body snap back into shape. Each of these bucket list items are likely a “one and done” as I’m not all that interested in doing either again. I may try a half marathon, but I think another 26.2 is out of my realm at this point.

I’ve been wanting to do more fun runs. I recently completed a Color Run with my daughter. It was so much fun (I supposed that is why it’s called a fun run, duh!). If you can find one in your area, it’s another one that I highly recommend. I’ve been meaning to do a mud run or obstacle course. I think these are typically one in the same. I had signed up for one, but my son ended up in a playoff game and getting an award so I had to miss the mud run. I am hoping to get another on my calendar soon.

Other fitness ideas for my bucket list include:

  • Try Cross Fit
  • Learn to surf
  • Hike a decent size mountain (not sure which one yet)
  • Walk a large portion of the Great Wall of China
  • Run an overnight team race

In addition to fitness and travel related goals, I am working on improving my style. I used to be so stylish in college and before kids, but I had let that go. My closet was full of far too much black. This year, I have worked on adding color and style to my wardrobe. In this area, here are bucket list ideas:

  • Work with a personal shopper
  • Attend a style class
  • Subscribe to some fashion magazines (I had a ton when I was younger. I have a ton for fitness and home, but I need more for my own beauty and style)
stylish moms

I like that these moms are stylish, but casual.

Of course my bucket list could go on and on, but I decided to share a few that have been on my mind lately. Have you been thinking about your bucket list or other goals you would like to achieve during the second half of 2013?

I had a list when I was younger, and I was quite proud of myself when I saw that all things were checked. I need to start another one, now that I am older and my boys are older. Thanks for putting the idea back into my head πŸ™‚

How fun to do The Color Run with your daughter. I recently completed a triathlon with my daughter. I’d love to complete an event with all my kids someday. My youngest is 6 so I hope I’m still in fighting shape (and he is willing to wait for his old mom) in about 10 years πŸ™‚

  12. Coco says:

I’m not much of a list maker, but I definitely would like to go to the Grand Canyon.
